One such leader is the True Assassin of the Fifth Holy Grail War, Hassan of the Cursed Arm, and that's who Zouken manages to bring to his side. His rumored last words were the motto of the Assassins in the Assassin's Creed franchise, "Nothing is true, everything is permitted," but in the Fate universe, the name Hassan-i Sabbah would become a title for the leaders of the Order of Assassins after King Hassan. In life, King Hassan was known as Hassan-i Sabbah and was the founder of the real-life Order of Assassins.

We saw King Hassan in Fate/Grand Order: Absolute Demonic Front Babylonia. Then, in the second film, Lost Butterfly, she finally gets to shine and we see massive character development - from her budding romance with Shirou to the reveal that she and Rin are sisters (a key piece of information that dates all the way back to Fate/Zero), to the revelation that Zouken placed fragments from the Holy Grail of the Fourth Holy Grail War into Sakura, making her an incomplete Holy Grail. Sakura plays the part brilliantly: in the first film, she subverts our expectations by allowing her adoptive grandfather, Zouken, and the mysterious Black Shadow to take the spotlight. And that's when we know that this trilogy will place Sakura in the spotlight more than ever. Heaven's Feel immediately shows in its opening 20 minutes that this route is the story of Shirou and Sakura. The meaning here is clear: this isn't the story of Shirou that we saw in the other two routes, with the Fate route covering the span of two weeks of his life while Unlimited Blade Works covered the rest of his life. Standing on a road overlooking the urban lights of Fuyuki City at night, it's as if she can sense Shirou's life ebbing away. Instead, we cut to Sakura turning around with an expression of surprise and fear. Shirou hears Lancer saying, "Hey, there," that immediately precedes the stabbing of Shirou's heart, but the next scene isn't the all-too-familiar one of Lancer sticking a spear into Shirou's. In short, the other two routes ease romance into an action-filled fantasy story, but the Heaven's Feel adaptation chooses, instead, to have an action-filled fantasy as its conduit to advance a relationship already built up by the time the opening credits roll. Rather than a single character in its opening, the film chose the dynamic built around Sakura and Shirou as its hook. Presage Flower chooses a completely different route to focus on. The Fate route began almost instantly with Shirou's flashback to being saved in the Fuyuki Fire, whereas the Unlimited Blade Works adaptation opened with a prologue episode, showing Rin and her complex emotions around magic, her father, and the Holy Grail War. The opening of the first Heaven's Feel film is markedly different from the adaptations of the other two routes. Related: The Fate Series: A Quick Guide to Watching the Anime Sakura and the Shadow There's a lot to take in and a lot to look forward to because in August, the third and final installment of Heaven's Feel, Spring Song, will hit the screens. True Assassin, Hassan of the Cursed Arm, took the place of Sasaki Kojirou and killed Cú Chulainn. Gilgamesh, arguably the strongest Servant in the Fate/stay night franchise, was literally eaten by Sakura. The seemingly indomitable Saber has been corrupted. Meanwhile, the long-lost Zouken from Fate/Zero has been scheming in the shadows for 10 years, ever since the Fourth Holy Grail War ended in the flames of Fuyuki. Sakura was the real master of Rider, allowing Shinji to control the Servant through a Book of the False Attendant. Then, along came the darker route, Heaven's Feel, which threw everything we knew out the window. Her brother Shinji, on the other hand, had a far greater role, serving as the master of Rider in the Fate route and a (temporary) vessel of the Holy Grail in Unlimited Blade Works. Her relevance to the story is all but forgotten, and she rarely shows up outside of a few isolated scenes.

The adaptations of the first two Fate/stay night routes - that is, the DEEN adaptation of the Fate route as well as the film and TV adaptations of the Unlimited Blade Works route - gave us the impression that Sakura Matou was a side character.
